[i]bigdamndean posting in [i]fandomhigh_ooc: The Great E-mail Check

I think I'm done spamming your flists for today after this. Possibly. Hopefully.

Ahem. Thank you all for getting your e-mail addresses up on your userinfo pages. Now it's time to see how well they work.

We're going to be sending an e-mail to each address we have on file now. If you have multiple characters who share the same account, keep in mind that you'll only be receiving one e-mail. Here's what we need you to do if/when you receive your message:

- If you receive the e-mail in your inbox before Sunday evening (eastern time), please reply and let us know everything went fine.
- If you receive the e-mail but something went wrong - it went to your spam folder, you didn't get it until late in the evening, etc. - please reply and let us know exactly what went wrong.
- If you do not receive an e-mail by Sunday evening, please send us an e-mail and let us know.

Hopefully, you'll all receive our e-mails, and we'll receive all of yours. Please try to get back to us as soon as schedules allow, so we can begin to investigate what providers might not be working as well as we'd like. This will not only help us communicate with all of you better, but it'll give us a heads-up to give to new players in the future.

Again, if there are any questions, feel free to leave them here. Thanks!

[i]perfectmissyork posting in [i]fandomtownies: The York Gallery; Sunday [ 07/20 ]

The current exhibit had been up for a while now, and Charlotte was really feeling that it was time for a new one to come in. She wanted to do something really different this time, though, and she knew it would take a lot of organization, which wasn't a problem at all for her, and a lot of advertising. So, in between making sure the Sunday tea was kept up, she sat at the front desk, thoughtfully sketching out potential posters.

The York Gallery is open!

[i]bigdamndean posting in [i]fandomhigh_ooc: Tag Someone New Week

One of the topics that was brought up in the Open Forum was the common nervousness that comes with playing with new people, especially for those who are fairly new to the game. We all tend to fall into comfortable circles of playing, so to try to help with this and shake things up a little, we're stealing borrowing with love an idea from another pan-fandom island game.

We're declaring this week Tag Someone New Week. The point is, simply, to play out a thread or a post with someone you've never played with before, whether it's a character you've never interacted with, or a player you've never played with. This isn't mandatory, just something designed to try to get rid of some of the apprehension that comes from playing with someone for the first time.

[i]ecirpnellehada posting in [i]fandom_clinic: FTEC -- July 20 -- Sunday.

Keeping up what was either tradition or simple the schedule she was used to, Adah come in for the afternoon and evening of her shift at the clinic, letting the nurses fend for themselves that morning. She actually, now that the schedule had been shifted a little, intended in the future to practically live here over the weekend, squeezing in as many hours of practical time working here before she left for school as she could. But this weekend had been busy, delightfully so, and Adah settled in with lots to read and write and contemplate, her little half-brain practically buzzing from working overtime, but she wasn't about to let it quit.

[i]ecirpnellehada: OOC -- Research for the Mind-Swap Plot!

First off, I'd like to give a big giant thank you to everyone who participated in [info]canlendyouahand and my plot. It was so much fun and the threads were great to read! I hope everyone who participated had as much fun with it as I know I did.

Secondly, the point of this post. I intended to interact with the switch back a lot, but I ended up getting really ill that night and crashed hardcore, and didn't really get up until nine this morning. Either way! Adah's forms for the participants can be found here. Responses are not required by any means, but they will be loved and cherished and come with a free gift of virtual pie.

That's all! And thank you so much, again! ♥!

[i]spacepiratevala posting in [i]fandomtownies: Luke's Diner, Sunday Afternoon

Vala hadn't really noticed anything too out of the ordinary as she got dressed that morning, until she realized that what she was wearing not only had higher heels than her usual boots, but that the clothes also weren't made from leather. They also came with a hat.

"Huh."

Still, she finished dressing (and wore her own boots, thank you very much) and made her way to the diner, visibly cheerful and humming as she walked. Even the fact that the chairs seemed to have been...appropriated...during the night didn't bother her overly. She was adaptable, and she hoped someone got a nice price for them.

The diner opened an hour late, as Vala had to find rugs and blankets and cushions so people would have somewhere to sit, assuming they weren't in a booth or at the counter. It was probably better not to ask where she got them, but at least Lacey wouldn't have to worry about reimbursing her.

She really liked Tortuga.

There was more humming and even singing as she wrote out the Specials board:

Specials:

Hard tack
Bone soup
Freshly squeezed orange juice

[i]new_to_liirness posting in [i]fandomhigh_ooc: Weekly Entertainment

In the interest of giving us a place to chat for those who can't use AIM at work or just want to babble about things OOC for fun, I'll be putting up a weekly entertainment post in the OOC every Sunday. Feel free to respond all week, chat amongst yourselves, go off on tangents, be completely ridiculous, make crack icons, donate to your local animal shelter, or any other off the wall behavior that involves being awesome and fun.

To get things rolling though, here's a question:

Anybody have any interesting hobbies (other than RP)?

I was just thinking about it since a random post in the open forum ended up in me and another player going "ZOMG ANOTHER KNITTER!" and that was really awesome.

[i]new_to_liirness posting in [i]fandomhighdorms: gym - sunday morning - 7/20

Liir wasn't warming up. Liir was actually dressed like his closet had dictated this morning, a pirate, with very little concern for working out. Leather pants, linen shirt, and his broom was on his hip much like a sword. He had a quantity of money that he intended to spend on a few specific items in the port, now that he was feeling a little less likely to startle at the very idea of leaving the island.

Busch Gardens will do that.

But he wasn't warming up, because despite the fact that he and Ino met every weekend here to teach him self-defense, he knew absolutely nothing would get done today.

Because he had a little surprise for her that he was sure meant that she'd be busy for most of the rest of the day.

And he didn't mind one bit.

[open for liirish or gymish needs; ino's thread will be last in the chronology, though]

[i]baskiceball posting in [i]fandomtownies: The Perk - Sunday Morning

Marshall hadn't been too upset to find that all of his clothes had turned pirate-y overnight. Weirded out, yes. But upset? No, not really. He just put on an outfit that looked a lot like his Halloween costume a couple years back and headed out. Marshall had been keeping the cockamouse caged in his office since he had captured it on Thursday. It had been well behaved (well, as well behaved as a cockamouse could be) and Marshall felt it deserved a reward. So he decided to take it to the Perk for brunch.

"Here you go little nameless cockamouse," Marshall said, shoving a piece of muffin into the cockamouse's cage. He'd really have to give it a name soon. "Maybe after we're done breakfast I'll take you to the hotel. You must be lonely cooped up in my office..."

[Yeah, like I'm not going to take advantage of having this icon. Open!]

[i]light_a_spark posting in [i]fandomtownies: Trooper Station - Sunday

Considering the whole theme both islands had going, Roy couldn't be too surprised at the change that had happened outside. The troopers seemed rather excited about the whole thing and Roy had already confiscated several cutlasses and eye patches.

They'd scurried off to do their patrols and now Roy was left with the confiscated goods. He weighed one of the cutlasses in his hand, trying to find its balance and he really should find out where the troopers had gotten these from to begin with. Maybe it was best not to know.

[i]idontlooktired posting in [i]fandomtownies: Ching Tai, Sunday night

Harriet settled herself comfortably at the table, with a smile of thanks for their server as he replaced a chair with a solid stool.

"I thought you might prefer somewhere near the back," she told her dinner guest. Not to mention a spot she could see the rest of the restaurant and the door. "Are you hungry?"

[ooc: Up waaaaay early for timezonishness and, apart from Harriet's not-a-date thread, open for your Chinese food needs.]

[i]cheminthehead posting in [i]fh_trips: Tortuga, 1640 - night

Night time saw Tortuga completely transformed. There was drinking and fighting and rioting in the streets, rollicking and roaring and general boisterousness abounded!

Drinking and roistering! )

Plus more drinking!

Drinking and shooting and jeering! )

Have fun, and remember, the clinic carries a range of modern drugs that can cure those embarrassing ailments so common in these times. Really.

[MYO threads for night time adventures! Again, no dying and remember no NSFW stuff in community journals! Similar posts will go up tomorrow, as well, because the island doesn't return to modern times until Monday night. So even if you can't play today, you won't miss out.]

[i]cheminthehead posting in [i]fh_trips: Tortuga, 1640 - day

Tortuga was relatively quiet by day. Merchants plied their trade, and took advantage of most of the lawless element sleeping off their boisterous night. Taverns were still open, though, and many a pirate and mercenary roamed the streets, along with ordinary folk who kept the towns running.

Cut for image in which you totally don't recognise anyone at all. )

The docks, however, were always busy.

[MYO threads and adventure for those who want to explore! Just don't die, please. And I'm playing fast and loose with the screencaps - it was the closest I could get!]

[i]cheminthehead posting in [i]fandomtownies: Sunday, all day

Overnight, the entire island appeared to have gone through some sort of timewarp. Pirate ships sailed around Fandom, and the view of Tortuga was radically changed.

There were pirate costumes to go with the brand new view, as many of Fandom's clothes had morphed into period appropriate clothing.

Welcome to Tortuga, circa 1640, home of the Brethren of the Coast! Tread carefully, for these are lawless waters and Tortuga is at their centre.

[posts coming up in fh_trips shortly are up for adventures on Tortuga, or you can play them in your own journals.]

[i]suit_of_awesome posting in [i]fandom_radio: Fandom Radio [Saturday, July 19]

*sounds of a struggle*

No! Bad midget pirate! That is my rum! I do this radio thing in exchange for copious amounts of free liquor and I am not sharing.

*sounds of tiny pirate Yaring* shh, I don't do pirate talk

Do you read? Because I will give you this job. Uh huh, I see how it is. Capped out in kindergarten, huh?

Cut for her pleasure )

[i]idontlooktired: Around Town, Saturday evening

Having sent several small pirates fleeing, Harriet was enjoying her stroll through the town.

It was lovely and clear, cool after the heat of the day, and a chance for her to be alone with her thoughts.

All in all, not a bad way to spend an evening.

[ooc: just for one, please!]

[i]konoha_flash: 29 Chimera Court - Saturday Evening

Arashi was busy in the kitchen, there was cheese everywhere and a few eggs cracked on the floor but he had managed to do it.

He hoped.

Sliding the cheese covered dish into the oven, Arashi closed it with a sigh and wiped a flour covered hand across his face. There, that was done for now.

Since Wade was choosing to sleep on his own, Arashi thought that he could at least sleep in one of the spare bedrooms and handwavily bought Wade a bed to sleep in. That way the living room would at least be freed up in the morning.

"Hey Wade?" Arashi called as he headed into the living room. "Are you here?"

[i]vkandis_son: Room 214, Saturday night

Once Karal was outside Evey's door, he stopped and crouched to be closer to Altra. Which left him looking directly into his own eyes, and that was still very strange. "I'll be fine if you want to go back to my room," he said, rubbing behind Altra's ears.

Purring - and how a purr could sound amused, Karal didn't know - Altra said, :If you're sure...:

Blushing, he poked the Firecat's shoulder. "We'll be fine, and you'd only end up leaving anyway, I'm certain."

With a mental chuckle, Altra padded away, leaving Karal to knock on Evey's door in darkness.

[ooc: for the person who's room it is!]

[i]just_add_starch: Fraser's Office [Saturday Early Afternoon]

Fraser wasn't hiding. Really. His office was comfortable and it wasn't weird that he'd been up before Robin after going to sleep after her.

Just coincidence, really.

He hoped this was almost over.

[Just for one person and set before the switching back!]
